This is Apollo. He is a Damascene pigeon who was rescued and is now a permanent resident at the Wild Bird Fund. Isn’t he pretty?

This is Robbie and Al. There are two fancy pigeons who have become a bonded pair. They are now permanent residents at the Wild Bird Fund. We thought they were two males at first but then Al pooped out an egg. They love each other a lot.

From my Flickr photostream. The two pigeons were standing on a glass surface of the recently renovated Piazza Santa Maria Novella, the square in front of the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, the church that contains, among other masterpieces, the Holy Trinity of Masaccio.
